Quibi is a video delivery platform initially available on Android and iOS.
Offering what they called "movie-quality shows designed for your phone", Quibi delivers on this promise by leveraging the hardware found in higher-end phones. Their shows also typically feature a healthy mix of new and established talent, both behind and in front of the cameras.
Most of their stories are presented in daily, short episodes — effectively rendering movie-length stories in serialised form.
A subscription-based service, Quibi offered various introductory deals in different locations around the globe. The main deal found in the United States in the first year of launch was for 14 free days and then roughly $5/month thereafter.
Its founder was Jeffrey Katzenberg, one of the key creatives behind the revitalisation of the Walt Disney Company in the late 20th century, and one of the founders of DreamWorks.
